Chris Rudd was born in Goshen, New York. Music has been a endless source of comfort throughout his life. Rudd was born with a hearing impairment and despite his diminished sensitivity to sounds he has embraced music since early childhood as a means of self-expression. Pacified by the soothing sounds of music, Rudd’s life has been wrapped and woven in his constant connection to music. Rudd’s teenage mother gave him up at birth and he was placed in a foster home where he was adopted as an infant. He lived in upstate New York with his new family until he was 3 years old and they all moved to California. Life was up, down and sideways as Rudd learned to manage the experiences of teasing and bullying in his early years. Rudd recalls listening to his parent’s music albums; the Rolling Stones, Joan Baez and Simon/Garfunkel.
He listened to them over and over until they were memorized. He could feel the music. The first tape Rudd bought to begin his personal collection of music was Michael Jackson’s “BAD” and he knew that was what he wanted to do, create music. Several years in England and currently resides in Los Angeles, California. Rudd has grown through abandonment issues, addiction, sobriety and recovery, the heartbreak of broken relationships and brings his entire life story to his singing and songwriting. Rudd knows life is a language and he speaks the language of his life through music. Rudd works with producer Lawrence Beamen to create Rudd’s first album “Sleepy Eyes”.
